DIRANA

FDS-PDC+ Dielectric Insulation Analyzer

Easy determination of insulation condition

DIRANA uses dielectric frequency response (DFR) analysis to determine the condition of high voltage insulators such as those in power transformers, bushings, cables and generators.

It automatically analyzes and determines the water content and oil conductivity in various types of cellulose-based insulation. You can test devices insulated with mineral oil, natural and synthetic ester, as well as air or vacuum. The measurement results are presented in categories defined by IEC 60422.

Simplified testing

DIRANA works with Primary Test Manager™ (PTM) software, the ideal solution for diagnostic testing, condition assessment and easy data management.

PTM automatically generates test plans based on nameplate data. The measurement results are automatically compared and evaluated according to international standards or customized limit values. In addition, PTM offers intelligent functions for easy data management and reporting.

Associated advantages

DIRANA combines the advantages of frequency- and time-domain spectroscopy. This combination enables rapid measurements covering the widest frequency range on the market.

DIRANA is the only device in the industry to use this combination and an advanced version of polarization and depolarization current, called PDC+. This guarantees the shortest measurement time on all devices and at all temperatures.

Areas of application

DIRANA allows you to test devices insulated with mineral oil, natural and synthetic ester, as well as air or vacuum. Devices commonly tested:

  • Power transformers
  • Instrument transformers
  • Crossings

In addition, dielectric measurements can be used to diagnose the condition of other equipment, such as:

  • Rotating machines
  • Bushings made of resin-coated paper (RBP), resin-impregnated paper (RIP) and resin-impregnated synthetic material (RIS)
  • Cables
